About Me:~

My name is Jessie, I'm 20 years old and I have lived in the South of England all my life.
I went to school and college and am currently job seeking, on top of doing a lot of house work and gardening for my Grandmother.

In my spare time,
if I'm not ritually refreshing the websites and forums I haunt,
I enjoy listening to music, drawing, researching and, of course, watching Xena episodes.

I'm also a big Roger Federer fan, so I do tend to watch a bit of tennis.
(Have been known to stay up all night waiting for one of his matches to start, via online stream, on the other side of the world)

I have a drug habit.
I'm a caffeine addict and love my coffee.

One of my favourite places to visit is a fairly local Wetland Centre, which is home to a wide variety of ducks, as well as several breeds of geese and swans.
I love ducks, have done for years, and I could (and do) happily watch them going about their business for hours on end.
When there aren't too many people there it is so peaceful, and their mocha cake is amazing!


Xena:~

I'v been a massive Xena fan since I was quite young, probably around 6 or 7 years old.
I used to watch it religiously when it was still showing on TV and I wouldn't let anything else take up that time slot.

Now I have the six seasons on DVD and watch them through, in order, at least a couple of times a year.
I love the humerous episodes such as A Day In the Life and Been There, Done That, it takes a lot to make me smile while watching a TV show, but Xena really does make me laugh out loud!
I also love the more serious episodes like One Against An Army, Who's Gurkahn?, The Deliverer and so many others. The depth of the characters and the plot is amazing and I can spend hours of my time trying to go through parts of it in my head, the emotions, the writting and the acting is always top notch and never fails to stun me, no matter how many times I'v watched it before.

I like a lot of characters from the show, my favourites being:

- Xena
- Gabrielle
- Joxer
- Callisto
- Alti
- Najara
- Boadicea
- Borias
- Caligula
- Athena
- Aphrodite
- Discord
- Samsara

The only episodes I'm really not a huge fan of are the Uber episodes, but even those I'll happily watch and do find amusing.

I'm a fan and supporter of subtext and I think the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle is just amazing, especially after all they went through.
It's the kind of relationship I'v never come across in any other show, and it melts my heart.
I never understood the word 'soulmate' untill i saw these two!

Other ships I agree with, or just generally like the sound of, are:

- Xena/Borias (in the olden days, of course)
- Gabrielle/Najara (only for most of The Crusader, after which it probably became mostly a one sided obsession)
- Athena/Ilainus (just adore this couple, wish we could have seen a bit more of them)
- Discord/Aphrodite (love born from childish rivalry?)
- Xena/Boadicea (love and betrayal do seem to come hand in hand with Xena, don't they?)
- Caesar/Brutus (speaks for itself really)
- Callisto/Caligula (the timeing was off, but i recon if they'd met eachother as gods it could have worked.. plus it's just cute)
